The Primrose

In early March we went out to look at the primrose in our school.  We looked at the leaves and the buds. Only a few of the buds had bloomed.  We took some photos and went back to the class.

Here is a photo of our primrose in early March

We came back to the class and the students had to draw a picture of the primrose ensuring that they tried to make their leaves nice and pointy and wrinkly like the flower we had looked at.  Here are some of our spectacular artist's drawings!

On Tuesday we went back out to see our primrose to see how it was doing and to see if there were any changes since our last visit.  The kids were delighted to see how much it had grown and how many flowers we could see on it now.  We talked about taking care of flowers and how important it is to be careful where we stand when out and about so as to ensure we do not damage any little flowers.  We will go out and visit our primrose again next month as there are still a few buds left to bloom. We counted about 12 or 13 blooms there today.  Maybe we might count up to 20 the next time!!

Why not go a see our primrose yourself!  Its just under the first tree near the black side gates leading into the yard.  Make sure you do not stand on it as its the only one in our school!!!
